What is Physiotherapy?
Physiotherapy is a profession. There are many areas of physiotherapy, including respiratory, neurology, musculoskeletal. At The Physio Room, Suffolk, we primarily treat Musculoskeletal problems, but we have skills which overlap in other areas. We are able to assess and treat a wide range of problems and conditions. Our aim is to be able to work with you to help you achieve your goals; these are often improving movement, strength, function, and/or pain.
Are your physiotherapists fully qualified?
Yes, any physiotherapist working at The Physio Room, Suffolk is a fully qualified chartered physiotherapist. They are registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP).
How long is each appointment?
Initial appointments are 45 minutes. Follow up appointments are approximately 35-40 minutes.
What should I wear to my appointment?
We ask that you wear clothing which allows us to be able to see the affected area. For example, if you have a problem with the lower back, hip or anywhere below this, it is useful if you bring shorts with you. For mid/upper back/ neck/ arm problems, a short sleeved top/vest top is useful.
Can I use my private health insurance to fund physiotherapy appointments with The Physio Room, Suffolk?
Please email us on thephysioroomsuffolk@gmail.com informing us of who you are insured with. We are currently going through the process of registering with insurance companies.
How many physiotherapy sessions can I expect to have?
This varies from person to person and depends on the type of problem you have. Some people may only require one session. Others may wish for/require ongoing treatment for long term conditions.
Can I bring someone with me?
Yes, some people prefer to bring someone along with them to the appointment. This is absolutely fine.
